As a Maintenance Technician you will perform a variety of skilled and semi‐skilled activities in the
maintenance and repair of assigned facilities, utilities and equipment including tasks in carpentry, electrical
work, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), construction, plumbing and painting.
High school diploma or equivalence.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in facilities maintenance.
Current California driver’s license, with an acceptable DMV printout and insurability, minimum of a 3 year driving history.
Ability to pass a DOJ criminal background check.
Ability to pass CPR and First Aid course.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, terminology and equipment used in the building maintenance trades including electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and painting.
Ability to maintain facilities, utilities and equipment in good repair.
Ability to operate a wide variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
Knowledge of mathematics applicable to the building trades.
Knowledge of applicable building codes, ordinances, fire regulations and safety precautions.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices.
Knowledge of proper lifting techniques.
Ability to observe health and safety regulations.
Ability to complete tasks in indoor and outdoor work environments, occasionally in extreme weather conditions.
Regular exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, oil / grease.
