POSITION
The Red Bluff Joint Union High School District is seeking applicants for an Educational Assistant, 7 hours per day, 206.5 paid days per year effective for the 2019- 2020 school year.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary $15.11 to $16.66 per hour based on Classified Bargaining Agreement and depending on training and experience. Health benefits in the defined amount of $8,298 per year for a full time employee are paid for by the District. Amount of employee contribution will depend on the plan selected.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Please note that not all qualifications apply to all educational assistants. Some are very specific to the job/classroom where the educational assistant is assigned).

Custodian 2019-2020 School Year

POSITION
The Red Bluff Joint Union High School District is seeking applicants for a Custodian, 8 hours per day, and 260 paid days per year, to begin immediately. Swing shift (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm) while school is in session and day shift while school is recessed.

 

SALARY AND TERMS OF SERVICE
Present salary based on 260 paid days per year, 8 hours per day, $14.74 to $16.25 per hour, depending on previous experience and training. The Conservation Technician reports to the Project Manager and/or the Lead Conservation Technician and is responsible for the successful implementation of resource conservation projects that the District may undertake under contract with various agencies, organizations, and individuals.

 

DUTIES

1. Responsible for performing necessary efforts leading to the successful completion of erosion control, fuels reduction, re-vegetation, restoration and other manual type projects undertaken by the District.

2. Record accurate data and complete detailed paperwork documenting work done on projects; report this data to the Project Manager and Accountant.

3. Assist Project Manager and Lead Conservation Technician in preparation for project work, i.e. attending project site tours, gathering necessary project site information, taking notes at project meetings and processing answers to any questions.

4. Assist in overseeing work performed by inmate crews, CCCs and outside contractors/subcontractors.

5. Responsible for being objective about the work being done and to offer suggestions for improvement as needed.

6. Responsible for in-field and day-to-day operation and assisting with basic maintenance of RCDTC vehicles, field equipment and hand tools. Assure all tools are in good working order, load tools and supplies, fuel up vehicles and equipment.

7. Follow District policies, procedures and safety practices

8. Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager to further resource conservation work in Tehama County.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and ability is qualifying. Knowledge of landscape maintenance, landscape planting, irrigation maintenance, plant species, soil erosion control, wildfire fuels removal, and roadside traffic safety and control practices preferred. Understanding of, and ability to assist with application of pesticides is desirable.

2. Mechanical aptitude necessary.

3. Knowledge of landscape equipment and tools and basic construction equipment operation. Ability to operate and maneuver a pickup truck towing a trailer or water tank trailer on highways and roadsides. Ability to operate and tow a brush chipper. Ability to operator a Bobcat Skid Steer with mower and masticator highly desirable.

4. Ability to perform hard physical labor, outdoors in rugged terrain and the varying extremes of weather typically expected for the northern Sacramento Valley. Have little to no reaction to poison oak. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Knowledge of local area geography is desirable.

5. Self-motivated and resourceful. Ability to work independently and without direct supervision

6. Ability to work cooperatively with fellow employees, private landowners, as well as local, state and federal agency personnel. Ability to work with California Conservation Corps (CCC) crews and State prison inmate crews as necessary.

7. Basic computer skills are necessary as project reporting is done electronically. Use email, use the internet, record data in pre-prepared Excel worksheets and Word documents.

8. Ability to read basic maps and identify work areas and access points.

9. Ability to pass a drug screening test and background check, possession of a valid driver’s license (Class A or B desirable but not required), and good driving record and proof of insurance.
