Ability To:

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions of daily tasks to ensure productivity and timelines are met.

Summary: Provides administrative support and translation services for the Head Start application process and the ERSEA department.

 

Essential Job Functions: Interview prospective parents (in Spanish or English as required) and document family information to determine eligibility for Head Start program.

1. Assist and encourage parents in gathering necessary information to complete the Head Start application process.

2. Inform parents of the forms needed, resources available to them, and remind them when more information is needed for their application.

3. Accurately enter application information into computer database program within prescribed timeframes.

4. Maintain family and program files and forms, insuring information is current, correct and disseminated to all necessary staff to meet program requirements.

5. Represent Head Start’s goals and mission, and NCCDI to staff, families, related consultants, agencies, and the community with respect.

6. Deliver informational presentations regarding the Head Start program and monthly Cal-Works orientations and other community meetings as needed.

7. Establish and maintain a positive and cooperative working relationship with staff, consultants, families, agencies, and the community.

9. Maintain confidentiality of all program records and information.

10. Copy all forms, flyers, mailings, and public awareness information required for outreach and the recruitment process.

11. Translate written documents from English to Spanish (or vice versa).

12. Appropriately refer applicant families to other programs or community agencies based on identified areas of need.

13. Act as back-up receptionist at the main office in the absence of other support staff.

14. Perform other program tasks as needed and assigned.

 

Qualifications:

1. Two years’ experience in a clerical or other position of comparable responsibility.

2. Bilingual (English/Spanish, verbal and written) required.

3. Ability to type at least 35 wpm with accuracy.

4. Must be able to prioritize work independently with minimum direction and supervision.

5. Working knowledge and ability to operate a variety of office and business machines competently.

6. Working knowledge and experience with MS Word, Excel, and data input program experience. Must have the ability to learn the Child Plus or other data information system used by the agency.

7. Ability to communicate well, on the phone and in person, with a variety of parents, staff, and community members, and provide accurate information about the agency and the Head Start program.
8. Must be able to work well under pressure with interruptions and handle multiple tasks calmly while
meeting deadlines.
9. 10-key by touch preferred.
10. Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with employer
safety policies.
11. Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance in compliance with agency Attendance Policy.
12. Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include occasional evening and weekend work.

Mathematical Skills:

Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:
Provide maintenance services for over one hundred (100) staff in a 36,000 square foot facility while ensuring a safe environment for all patients and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic safety, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and janitorial.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Check e-mail in order to prioritize work requisitions, starting with immediate need.
  • Receive and distribute freight throughout the building as it arrives.
  • All requisitions must be filled each day if the items requested are available.
  • Recycling all cardboard as it is generated throughout the day.
  • Maintain overall clean appearance of the building by removing noticeable debris, spills and stains.
  • Check all lighting fixtures to ensure that all are working properly, change bulbs and ballasts as needed.
  • Daily maintenance of the fountain, which includes removing debris from water as well as cleaning tile and stone as needed.
  • Cleaning of parking area which includes removing all trash and debris, using the leaf blower when needed.
  • Filling all bird feeders with appropriate bird seed.
  • Arrange the conference room tables and chairs in the necessary configuration for the day. (Check conference room schedule for changes).
  • Monitor and maintain comfortable temperatures in all areas of the building.
  • Restock sanitation stations regularly.
  • When an Urgent Care overflow is paged, check UC lobby and add extra seating as needed. Check sanitation station for restocking.
  • Check UC exam room trash containers and empty if needed.
  • Transfer storage items to off-site storage facility when instructed to do so by a supervisor.
  • Lock all drug cabinets as soon as patients are no longer being seen in each area.
  • Make necessary deposits into safe at appropriate times according to current procedure.
  • Turn on lobby monitors when facility opens for the day. Turn off lobby monitors and pods C, D, and F monitors at closing time.
  • Once all patients are allowed to leave the building make sure all doors that should be locked are locked.
  • Evening shift must meet with cleaning crew nightly to discuss janitorial issues. Also inventory janitorial supplies to prevent shortages.
  • After dark provide escorts to vehicles for staff upon request.

Job Qualifications:

  • Miscellaneous power tools, floor buffer, carpet cleaning machine, pressure washer, and generator.
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience
  • Must have the ability to move large, heavy objects such as desks and office furniture safely.

Description: The Resident Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Residents during evening and night time hours. Resident Supervisors help create a safe, supportive and caring home environment in which the residents continue their recovery and provide regularly scheduled opportunities for the residents to grow in their understanding of recover. It is the responsibility of the RS to ensure all residents are following all program rules and policies. It is also important to take note of any behavioral concerns you might observe while supervising. If such an incident took place where the RS is unable to solve the matter – it is the RS responsibility to ensure the on-call staff is notified immediately for a timely response. It is the responsibility of the Resident Supervisor to ensure all incidents have been reports and all documentation has been completed according to the nature of the incident. You could be responsible for putting together a complete unit on your own or have a dedicated spot on a larger line where you could be responsible for one specific aspect of the product you are making.  This position often involves working with hand and power tools, and accurately reading specs.
